Approximately 27 years ago when Angie was getting close to graduating from high school there was no place for her to receive help to live as independently within her community as we wanted. She was used to being somewhat independent in our home, she had a job thru the school program and was valued in her community. We knew that someday we would no longer be around to help her and wanted her to be prepared to live on her own. Because of Angie’s issues, a group home, or having a roommate was not the answer for her.

With the help of Candeo Angie is living very independently; staff for a few hours both in the morning and evening but stays alone overnight. Angie is buying her own condo and can live there with some support from Candeo. She has a part-time job she loves and Candeo provides a job coach to help her succeed there. If it were not for Candeo, Angie would still be living at home with us and that would not be ideal for her nor us. Because of Candeo Angie has become very independent.

"Candeo puts the client’s wants and needs at the center of their plan. The programs provided by Candeo cost a lot of money and I am asking you to consider supporting them through your donation." ~ Carol Pickett

VP of Sales, Assured Partners

I have been married to the love of my life since 2007 and we are blessed with two wonderful daughters. In my career I consult with businesses and non-profits to tailor benefits packages that fit their needs and those of their employees.

When I am not helping companies build benefit packages or enjoying my family, I give back to my community by serving and donating to Candeo. I trust in the services that Candeo provides to individuals with disabilities so they can live and work in the community and to support good mental health. It is always encouraging to hear the success that individuals achieve like developing the confidence to participate in the community due to the support and training provided by Candeo staff.

I realize that Candeo has funding limits due to the Medicaid contract. I donate because I trust in the work done and because Candeo’s values of self-worth, dignity and respect align with my own belief system.

President, Development Services Corp.

I was introduced to Candeo through my fiancée who was employed at Candeo at the time. I have served on Candeo’s Board of Directors since 2015 and served as the Board Chair since 2016. I serve and contribute to Candeo because I am fortunate to be in a position to both serve and donate and enjoy doing my part to give others hope.

I actively support Candeo’s efforts to build community awareness of the services and supports that they offer by sharing the Candeo story whenever given the opportunity and by inviting Candeo leadership to present in many venues. It is important that our community understands the services provided and the value of all people.

My passion for Candeo is driven by my belief that all people should be given the opportunity to live in positive environments and have access to resources to ensure that they live with equality, dignity and respect.
